Fostering Guinea Pigs

Fostering Guinea Pigs. It's a loving option. You save lives of these little creatures and give them happiness. Fostering is available from a local sheltering group, or even on websites. You can foster them until the shelter has room, or until somebody wants to keep the wonderful pet.

Reasons to Foster a Cavy:

*It will help you own guinea pig's social skills. If you have only one, it will give them more time with another of their kind.

*Fostering increases the chance for one of these piggies to be adopted. Isn't that awesome?

*You'll be ready to see if you can own another Guinea Pig. You can foster the pet for a while, and in that time, many people decide that they are ready for another friend.

*Fostering is temporary, and usually free. Guinea Pigs do not require much care, and they are there for you if you have a lot of time on your hands. You already have a guinea pig, what's the difference with one more?

*You can choose how to foster. Do you want long-haired Cavies? Females? Males?

*Foster Pets can help your mental being. Research shows that they are calming and put you in a win-win situation. You help their life, they will pay you back.

Many people make up excuses not to foster. They say they are too busy, or they already have enough to look after. One of those people may be you, but remember, it's a win-win sort of situation!

But remember, fostering is temporary. You cannot get too attached to the pet. When somebody wants the Guinea Pig you are fostering, just remember that they will be happy. Fostering is a very, very, very loving option to take.

I agree. Fostering is a loving option. Right now, I have got three piggies in foster Care.
